Cyclic focuses on the clash between two cultures in one person, like a migrant who struggles with universal issues. How can harmony and friction coexist? Is life linear or cyclic? What is the consequence of losing control?
These questions are relevant in today’s society and they are the driving forces in this choreographic work. The opposition of virtues celebrated in Indian and Western mythology provide the underlying structure for Cyclic; subjective versus objective, emotion versus logic, the universal versus personal and myth versus science. These opposing forces are translated into a performance, in which dance, video projection and music come together to form a unique temporary universe.
